What is this tour about? This tour offers you the opportunity to relive a day of flying activity of one of KLM’s 737-800 workhorses, the PH-BXH “Goose”. It is no particular day, we have taken May 18th 2015 as just one ordinary day out of many, with all the regular flights a KLM plane has to perform during such a normal working day.
IMPORTANT: Enjoy this tour and let us know whether you like it! There are many more working days for the Goose to enjoy! And we are more than prepared to create more Workhorse Tours for you! Not only simulating other days, but of course also other KLM planes will come into play if we get enough affirmative feedback.
What’s in it for me?
With each leg you can earn 25 company points. If you choose to file your flight report in the KLM-VA Pirep system and have it validated you may earn yet another 80 points for each leg! So, for each leg a maximum of 105 extra company points can be earned, depending on the quality of your flight operations: 25 points are assigned automatically if the conditions mentioned below are met; if this is OK, a further 80 points can be assigned by the validator if you choose to file a flight report in the KLM-VA Pirep system within 7 days after your flight. These points add to the “normal” points for each flight leg. And of course, there is a badge for your profile waiting for you when you complete all 6 legs of this Workhorse-B738 Tour to satisfaction.
So, to enumerate: • 5 automatically assigned company points for the leg, as usual • 25 company points are automatically assigned if the following conditions are met: - you have the correct remarks “WORKHORSE1” and “KLM VA” or “KLMVA” in your flightplan - your flightplan states a correct aircraft - time between off- and on-blocks is within the limit - you are flying the legs in the correct order • It is possible to earn yet another 80 points if the automatic flight validation is OK. Then you may file a flight report in the KLM-VA Pirep system within 7 days after the flight. The 80 extra points are assigned if the validator is satisfied with the following aspects: - your route flown is equal to the route in the flightplan (no shortcuts), with the exception of an obligatory other route assigned by ATC. The validator will only consider this exception if you have mentioned the name of the relevant ATC-unit in the route-field of your report - The cruising altitude flown corresponds with the prescribed and/or filed altitude within a limit of + or – 500 ft. Exception is the same as above. - All other aspects of a correct flight operation, at the discretion of the validator • If you have earned at least 25 points for each of the 6 legs, you will have completed the tour and will get the “Workhorse 1” badge on your pilot profile.
